Oh, you capture my attention

Back in February 2012, I had the opportunity to shoot an artist I love, Lights. This was my second time in the press pit, taking photos for AU Magazine.

This one is perhaps my favourite photo I took that night, as it reflects how super smiley she was throughout the show.

One thing I liked most about the show was how much she interacted with the crowd.

“So lift it up like a banner, hold it up over me. If this war is never ending, I‘ll take this love down with me…”

Towards the end of the gig Lights invited a couple of lucky fans to get on-stage and dance with her as she performed another of her tracks. The boy made sure he got plenty of photo-evidence of his time on-stage by passing his camera to his friend before he started dancing.

She later slowed things down with a piano number.

After the initial 3 songs I had to exit the press pit, but I stayed on to watch the rest of the show, shooting from the crowd. The atmosphere was great and Lights put on an amazing show. I hope she returns to Belfast at some point so I can gain the chance to see her perform live again.
